'Top Guys At The U.S. Ryder Cup Can’t Get The Work Done – Trevino

Over the years, American golfers have not been doing very well when they take part at the U.S. Ryder Cup and many people have been wondering why this is always the case. Among those people who have always been wondering about this issue is former Ryder Cup captain Trevino. For those who are not familiar with Trevino here is a brief to jog your memory. Trevino, in addition to being a Ryder Cup captain, has managed to win six major championships in his career. According to Trevino, the main reason why many home grown golfers tend to struggle while playing at the Ryder Cup is as a result of them not bringing their A-Game during the critical moment.

Trevino made the comments while speaking during an early week of the Greenbrier Classic. In his comment, Trevino went on further to actually giving out a very honest analysis of golfing in the U.S. U.S. golfers have not been putting up a great show on a number of golfing events not only just the Ryder Cup. At the Ryder Cup, since 2002, the U.S. have had a record of 1 – 6.

“Let me just tell you exactly what is the real problem when it comes to the Ryder Cup,” Trevino said. “With Ryder Cup its very simple, all you have to do is ensure that every time you pick a team to compete at the Ryder Cup you need to have 3 golfers who are simply pro at what they do. Once the three have been identified they should give the team at least +6 points and this is something that many greats have failed to do.”
